Off the Rails Episode 04: Eh-vee-oh-ver-eye-pee

Originally recorded on Oct 16, 2020.

AVoIP Part 1: Everything is on the network these days… or is it all on a network? If you have 45 minutes, we’ll hammer out the intricacies of AVoIP and try to wrap our heads around what it is (more flexible than it used to be), what it isn’t (Netflix), and how to manage it. We will give examples of what we have done, what worked for us, and dive into what didn’t work. AVoIP is where the industry is going, but the AV SuperFriends try to determine if the time is right for most of Higher Ed to jump in.

As a bonus we make Jamie look up inappropriate words on his work laptop.

Originally recorded October 16, 2020 Jamie is coming in hot with a problematic project.  We define AVoIP, then argue about that definition. Is it better to put things on the network or on a network? And who manages all our network stuff, anyway?
